About the Author
Theresa Foks-Appelman is a registered creative arts therapist from Holland, the Netherlands. She has had a private practice, since 1995 in which she works with children and parents. Her book about the symbolic meaning of drawings and play was published in the Netherlands in 2004, translated in English 2007, Hebrew 2009 and Complexe Chinese 2011. Theresa Foks-Appelman is Sandplay Therapist and teaching member of the I.S.S.T. and member of the International Playtherapy Studygroup.

Excellent resource about children's drawings

Reading Theresa's book was a wonderful experience for me! In addition to the magical journey in the world of children's drawings, Theresa takes the reader on a tour to meet different cultures around the world and various ways for understanding how children draw in different environments.It is fascinating to see how archetypes of house, tree and human figure have similar meanings all around the world, teaching us about children's personalities. This resource also includes wealth of knowledge about sand therapy and reference to children's stories and legends. The book is packed with diverse meanings about children's drawings and interesting studies. It is a must-read title for every parent and professional who wishes to understand children's emotional world and just like its name, when you finish reading it, you want to ask your child to DRAW YOU A PICTURE!
